  1. After the title screen, and the game
  2. loads in. You will see the options:
  3.     1.Start new game
  4.     2.Continue old game
  5. Pressing '2' loads in and lets you
  6. continue playing an old saved game.
  7. Pressing '1' starts a new game:
  8.  
  9. You will first be shown the:
  10. 'SKILL LEVEL' options screen.
  11. Bomb squad, let's you play at
  12. 4 different skill levels.
  13. Selecting easy, let's you fail to
  14. disarm 12 bombs, before you lose
  15. the game (kicked off the Bomb Squad).
  16. Selecting medium, lets you fail to
  17. disarn 8 bombs, hard=4, expert=1.
  18.  
  19. After selecting the skill level, you
  20. will be shown the 'CHOOSE PLAYER FOR
  21. MISSIONS' screen.
  22.  
  23. Here you simply choose your alter ego,
  24. the one who does the dirty work.
  25. After selecting the player, you will
  26. be asked to give him a name.
  27. Use your name, or whatever you want
  28. to call him.
  29. Simply type it in, and press RETURN
  30. to enter it.

  32. Next, you will be shown the Players
  33. statistics screen. You will come back
  34. to this screen often throughout the
  35. game. It contains vital information
  36. about your player, such as: rank,
  37. missions completed, missions failed,
  38. and the skill level your playing at.
  39. Plus the options to: Save the current
  40. game, Continue playing, and to Quit.
  41.  
  42. Your player starts out as rank:
  43.   PRIVATE 3RD CLASS
  44. After successfully completing 3
  45. missions (disarming 3 bombs), he will
  46. be given a higher rank:
  47.   PRIVATE 2ND CLASS
  48. Then:
  49.   PRIVATE 1ST CLASS
  50.   LIEUTENANT 3RD CLASS
  51.   LIEUTENANT 2ND CLASS
  52.   LIEUTENANT 1ST CLASS
  53.   CAPTAIN 2ND CLASS
  54.   CAPTAIN 1ST CLASS
  55.   MAJOR
  56.   MAJOR GENERAL
  57.  
  58. Your goal is to make it to:
  59.   MAJOR GENERAL, then complete 3 more
  60. missions, then you will be a GENERAL,
  61. and will have won the game.
  62.  
  63. When you select 'Continue game', you
  64. will be shown the address and a brief
  65. description of the bomb location.
  66. Then you will visit the bomb site.
  67.  
  68. Here is where you must work with
  69. speed, and nerves of steel.
  70. The bomb will be displayed in the
  71. middle of the screen. On one part of
  72. it, there will be a small white square.
  73. This is the part you begin with.
  74. Your Bomb Squad Computer will
  75. automatically analyze the bomb for you,
  76. and tell you what to do.
  77. All you have to do, is to REMEMBER
  78. what it tell's you.

  80. To select your tools: 'PULLERS' or
  81. 'CUTTERS', move the mouse pointer, the
  82. small grey square, over the words:
  83. 'PULLERS' or 'CUTTERS', depending on
  84. which tool you want to use, and press
  85. the left mouse button.
  86. You current tool, will be displayed at
  87. the top of the screen.
  88.  
  89. Follow the owrds of the computer exactly.
  90. If it says to cut this first, then pull
  91. this...etc
  92. Choose the correct tool 'CUTTERS' to cut,
  93. 'PULLERS' to pull, then move the mouse
  94. pointer over the correct part, and press
  95. the left mouse button to cut or pull it.

  99. Simply follow the on-screen instructions.
  100. Save your game often, as your player moves
  101. up in rank.
  102. You should use a new formatted disk, as your
  103. save game disk, it makes seeing your old game
  104. files, much easier, and you will have room
  105. to store tons of old games.

  107. You never know how many parts a bomb will
  108. have, it could be only 2, or it might be
  109. 7...

  112. When you, or if you make it to GENERAL,
  113. you will have completed 30 missions!
